In the Expert Mounts ceiling-mount system, this head is the screen end of the assembly and works with 1.5" NPT pipe - any fixed length or telescoping extension - hung below a ceiling plate matched to the structure. Because it clamps rather than threads, it can attach to a vertical pipe as a conventional ceiling drop or grip a horizontal truss directly, which is why it is listed for truss use as well as ceiling use.
The head tilts up to 15 degrees down to aim the screen at viewers below the mount. It is intended for small displays: confirm that the screen measures between 10 and 30 inches diagonally, that its mounting holes fall within the 75 x 75 to 100 x 100 mm VESA range, and that it weighs no more than 50 lb. Never exceed the rated capacity, and for any screen mounted overhead, whether on a pipe or a truss, professional installation is recommended.
