In the Expert Mounts ceiling-mount system, this plate is the attachment point at the building structure. It accepts a 1.5" NPT threaded pipe, which serves as the mast; the mast in turn carries a mount head that holds the display or projector. A cable management port in the plate lets power and signal cables pass from the ceiling into the pipe run, keeping the wiring concealed along the mast.
Choose this plate for flat ceilings. For sloped or cathedral ceilings, an angled plate or angled adapter is the correct choice, since it lets the mast hang plumb; strut channel and structural steel installations use the Unistrut adapter or beam clamp instead. Whatever the surface, the plate must be fastened to structure capable of supporting 4 times the total load of the pipe, hardware, and mounted equipment. Professional installation is recommended for ceiling-mounted products.
